How to Wear Stockings
Looking well put together and stylish is not something that is left only to the jacket, tops, pants, skirts and dresses you wear; your look lies heavily on accessories. Stockings are one accessory that have the power to make your legs look fantastic simply by the color you choose and how you choose to wear them. Of course, if choosing the correct stocking for your outfit has the power to make you look great; the opposite can be said about poorly chosen stockings. The question is how to choose stockings that will make your legs look their absolute best.
1.Skirts that fall at the knee or an inch above the knee look best in sheer stockings. Do not wear opaque stockings with this length skirt; it will make you look frumpy. Be careful of wearing short skirts (4 inches above the knee) with nude stockings unless you are still in your 20′s or have great legs,
2.Thick, patterned, plaid, floral stockings are best used for artistic, funky looks. If you would like to bring a patterned stocking into your classic wardrobe the best way to do this is to wear them under pants, choosing a small print
3. When wearing short-sleeved and sleeveless tops or light sheer fabrics choose a nude/skin tone hose. Match the color of the hose as closely to the color of your skin as possible. Anything different than that will have an unnatural appearance.
4. Opaque stockings look best worn with long and short skirts during fall and winter. Off-white or bone stockings will make your legs appear larger and are not usually a good choice.
5. Sandals or open shoes do not look great with opaque stockings.
These are just a few points to keep in mind when choosing your stockings. Another tip is to always keep an extra pair with you in case you get a snag or run. This is especially true if you are attending an important event or are being interviewed.

Fashion is simply defined as a prevailing custom or style of dress, etiquette, art forms or social behaviour. Out of fashion therefore implies a custom or style of dress, etiquette, art forms or social behaviour that was once popular but no longer is.
There are several reasons why styles that were in fashion go out of fashion. The first that comes to mind is the saying that the only thing constant is change itself. Change is the natural order of things and that is why fashion trends change. Every generation wants to be different from the previous one. The Hippie movement of the early sixties arose as a protest against prevalent social modes and created its own style of dress and behaviour.
However without any impetus change is a slow process. The robust nude paintings of the Renaissance were in fashion for over a hundred years. Sometimes technology is the cause of things going out of fashion. Take for example the invention of the photographic camera. Prior to this one of the main purposes of painting was to preserve a likeness of people and places for posterity. The camera performed this function better. Hence realism in painting went out of fashion and a host of surrealist styles became popular.
In the last fifty years changes in fashion have been taking place at a fast pace. These cannot be explained by normal social changes or by technological inventions. The changes have been deliberately enforced with specific objectives. The fact of the matter is that fashion has become big business, whether it is couture or life style or music or anything else. First through marketing hype fashions are created so that products and services can be sold. Then when the sales begin to dwindle another marketing hype puts these products and services out of fashion and another set in fashion.

Consider Your Fashion When Looking For a Boost of Confidence
Every other girl and guy for that matter has issues, some type of insecurity. Self-Esteem is a huge part of our lives whether we want to admit it or not. Just look in the mirror as you do each day. Today’s fashion tells you that it’s OK. This years summer colors are just what you need. Black is back and shoulders are broad. Plaid is in and can be worn to just about anything and to anywhere. Tye dyes are back and making a statement. The trend this summer will make you feel confident and powerful and can be purchased in styles that will fit your budget. Whether your going back to school or off to work. Take your positive self-esteem with you by the way you dress.
Remember don’t let what others look like be the basis of your attitude, make their attitude be the basis of what yours is. Be the one with style and be assured that others notice you before you notice them. Walk with your head up and with a healthy lifestyle starting from within. But remember we’re not all Covergirls and guys.
